What To Expect In A Counselling Session
Taking the first step into counseling is a big one, and I want you to feel completely comfortable. Our first session is a gentle introduction—a safe space for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's on your mind and what you hope to gain from our time together. You can also ask me anything you'd like. We'll also cover confidentiality, ensuring you understand that this space is entirely your own.
As we continue, we'll explore the deeper issues you're facing. Think of me as your partner in this journey; I'll be there to support you as you process your emotions and experiences. My goal is to help you build the skills and confidence you need to face life's challenges with resilience.
BEFORE THE SESSION
Once your payment and forms are received, you'll get an email from Dr. Koh with a Zoom link for your session. The message will also confirm the date and time of your booking.
DURING THE SESSION
In our time together, my priority is to listen to you and truly understand your experience. We'll start by talking about what brought you to counseling and what you hope to achieve, both in this session and overall.
I'll ask a variety of questions to help clarify your thoughts, explore your feelings, and gain a deeper understanding of your situation. At times, I may gently challenge you to see things from a new perspective.
Think of our sessions as a therapeutic partnership. I'm here to listen, empathize, and help you gain new insights. Together, we'll work to empower you to navigate life's challenges. Let's talk.
AFTER THE SESSION
At the end of our session, if you or I feel that more support would be helpful, I can schedule your next appointment right away. This helps ensure you get a time that works for you.
Please note that payment is required in advance to confirm your booking. Your next appointment will be secured once the full fee has been received, at least 24 hours before the session.
